Police Appeal To Find Man Missing From West Dapto

Police are seeking help from the public to locate a man missing south of Sydney.

Luke Malone, aged 40, was last seen near the intersection of Bong Bong Road and Haynes Lanes, West Dapto, about 12pm yesterday (Friday 14 March 2025).

When he couldn't be contacted or located, he was reported missing to officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District, who have commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Police and family hold concerns for Luke's welfare.

Luke is described as Caucasian appearance, 180cm tall, medium build, short dark hair and has full sleeve tattoos on both arms.

He was last seen wearing a black singlet with the word "AMITY" across the chest in grey writing, camouflaged coloured shorts and black shoes.

Luke is known to frequent the Dapto and Wollongong areas.

Local police – with the assistance of PolAir, Police Rescue and the Dog Squad – conducted a search of bushland in the vicinity of where he was last seen between 6pm and 9pm yesterday. This search is expected to resume about 8.30am today (Saturday 15 March 2025).
