Police appeal to find woman missing from Queanbeyan

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a woman last seen at Queanbeyan.

Julie Moore, aged 53, was last seen by a family member on Christmas Eve (Thursday 24 December 2020).

Julie failed to make contact with family members on Christmas Day, which was considered out of character.

Her disappearance was reported to officers from Monaro Police District, who commenced an investigation.

Inquiries by police have revealed Julie went to the Queanbeyan Leagues Club around 11.00pm on Christmas Eve, where her movements in the lobby were captured on CCTV cameras. She left a short time later.

Julie is described as Caucasian appearance, 165cm tall, thin build and fair complexion, with shoulder length light brown/greying hair. She was wearing a black top with what appears to be green around the back, shoulders and neckline, dark coloured pants and a black or grey checked top wrapped and tied around her waist and sandals or thongs.

Monaro Police District Criminal Investigation has commenced Strikeforce Kadigal to investigate the

circumstances surrounding her disappearance.

She was known to live in the Queanbyean and nearby Karabar areas.

Monaro Police District Crime Manager, Detective Chief Inspector Neil Grey, said police and family members hold fears for her welfare.

"Police have conducted extensive inquiries with the aim to find out what happened to Julie, and we are now appealing to those in the community who may have vital information.

"If anyone has information about Julie Moore's whereabouts, or has seen her since Christmas Eve, then we want to hear from you", Det Ch Insp Grey said.
