Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a woman missing from the Blue Mountains.
Melanie Palffy, aged 53, was last seen on Warialda Street, Katoomba, about 10pm on Saturday 21 December 2025.
When she could not be located or contacted, officers attached to Blue Mountains Police Area Command were notified today (Wednesday 15 January 2025) and commenced inquiries into her whereabouts.
Police and family hold concerns for Melanie's welfare as she is partially blind in both in eyes.
She is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175cm tall, of medium build, with short light brown hair. Her eyes are opaque due to her blindness.
Melanie is known to frequent the Katoomba area.
