Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a fatal collision that occurred in East Wangaratta this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the Great Alpine Road to reports of a two-vehicle collision about 5.05pm.
Sadly, the sole occupant of one of the vehicles, who is yet to be formally identified, died at scene.
The driver and sole occupant of the other vehicle, a 20-year-old woman from Wodonga, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.
