Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision which occurred in Tullamarine this morning.
Investigators have been told a Toyota Hilux and pedestrian collided on Broadmeadows Road on 29 June about 6.40am.
Emergency services attended the scene, and the pedestrian a 87-year-old woman was transported to hospital but died a short time later.
The driver of the Toyota stopped and remained at the scene has spoken with police.
The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.
