Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a fatal collision in Bulleen this morning.
It is believed a truck and van collided at the intersection of Manningham and Bulleen roads about 5.40am
The driver of the van, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
A passenger was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The truck driver was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area with the roads expected to be closed for several hours.
