Police Are Responding To Fatal Collision In Preston

Detectives from Major Collision Investigation Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision which occurred in Preston this morning.

Investigators have been told a BMW and a Mazda were stolen from an address in Coonans Street, Pascoe Vale South about 11.40pm.

Police attended the area and received information that the BMW was headed towards Preston.

About 12.40am it is alleged the BMW was involved in a collision with a motorcyclist at the intersection of Bell Street and Victoria Street, Preston.

It is alleged two occupants from the BMW ran from the collision.

Officers were quickly on scene and performed CPR on the male rider but he unfortunately died.

Police searched the area and a 16-year-old boy was arrested a short time later.

He is currently assisting police with their enquires.
