Police Are Responding To Fatal Collision In Woolsthorpe

Police are investigating a fatal collision which occurred in Woolsthorpe this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Warrnambool-Caramut Road after reports a north-bound car and a south-bound car collided and caught fire about 5.15pm on 10 January.

The driver of one vehicle and passenger from the other vehicle were pulled from their cars by passers-by.

Unfortunately the yet to be identified driver in the south-bound vehicle died at the scene.

The male driver of the north-bound car and the passenger from the south-bound car have both been taken to hospital with critical injuries.

The exact circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be established and detectives from Major Collision Investigation Unit are headed to the scene.

The road is closed to in both direction while investigations continue.
