Police Are Responding To Fatal Crash - Alice Springs 10 August

Northern Territory Police are investigating a fatal crash in Alice Springs last night.

Around 9pm, emergency services received reports of a collision between a Toyota Hilux and a motorcycle on the Stuart Highway in Braitling near the intersection with Dalgety Road.

The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and contacted police. The motorcycle rider was traveling with another rider, who also stopped at the scene.

Emergency services conveyed the 22-year-old male rider to hospital where he was declared deceased a short time later.

A crime scene was declared and the Stuart Highway was closed overnight in both directions. One lane of the Stuart Highway has been opened with diversions in place, however, motorists are advised to expect delays until 10am today.

Detective Senior Sergeant Sean Aila said " Major Crash Detectives are in the early stages of their investigation and are urging anyone with dash-cam footage to make contact with police on 131 444 and quote P24215205."
