Police Are Responding To Fatal Crash - Ashfield

A man has died following a vehicle crash in Sydney's Inner West this morning.

About 8am (Tuesday 24 September 2024), emergency services were called to Liverpool Road, Ashfield, following reports of a two-vehicle crash.

Officers attached to Burwood Police Area Command were told a truck and a Mercedes sedan collided.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the driver of the truck, a 61-year-old man, however, he died at the scene.

The driver of the Mercedes - a 30-year-old man - was uninjured and taken to Canterbury Hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash has commenced.

Both vehicles were seized to be forensically examined.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
