Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash which occurred on the Western Highway this morning.
Officers have been told a bus carrying a number of passengers was travelling along the Western Highway near Pimpinio about 2am.
It is believed the trailers of a B-double truck travelling in front of the bus dislodged and blocked the highway in both directions.
The bus crashed into the trailers.
Emergency crews attended and treated the bus driver who unfortunately died at the scene.
At least two people have suffered serious injuries and have been taken to hospital.
The highway was closed in both directions as a result of the crash with diversions in place.
Detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit are attending the scene.
