Sadly, a 21-year-old woman has died following a crash at Poatina today.
Police and emergency services were called to the scene about 2pm.
Initial inquiries indicate the woman was travelling east on Poatina Road in a Toyota Tarago when it went down an embankment and flipped.
The woman was a passenger in the van, which had three other female occupants aged in their early 20s on board.
The other three women were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Anyone with information or relevant dash cam footage of the van travelling in the area beforehand, is asked to contact police on 131 444.
Our thoughts are with the woman's family and loved ones. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
