Police are investigating the circumstances following a fatal car crash in Tyers this afternoon.
Police have been told the car was travelling along Tyers-Walhalla Road just after 5.30pm.
It is believed the driver lost control and left the road before crashing into a tree.
The male driver and sole occupant of the vehicle died at the scene.
He is yet to be formally identified.
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
