Police Are Responding To Fatal Crash - Capertee

A person has died following a crash in the state's west.

About 6.10pm today (Wednesday 20 November 2024), emergency services were called to the Castlereagh Highway, Capertee, following reports of a crash between a car and truck.

The driver of the car died prior to the arrival of emergency services. They are yet to be identified.

The 38-year-old male truck driver suffered minor injuries. He has been taken to Orange District Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from Chifley Police District have established a crime scene.

Traffic diversions are currently in place as the Castlereagh Highway remains closed in both directions.

The area is expected to remain a crime scene for a considerable of time.
