Police Are Responding To Fatal Crash - Dapto

A man has died in a single-vehicle crash in the state's south.

About 5pm today (Tuesday 11 March 2025), emergency services were called to the intersection of Robert and Joan Street, Dapto, following reports of a crash.

Officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District attended and found a vehicle had crashed into a house.

The driver – a man believed to be aged in his 60s – was trapped in his vehicle; however, died at scene.

He is yet to be formally identified.

The residents of the home were evacuated due to a gas leak as a result of the crash, however, has since been cleared.

There were no other reports of injuries.

A crime scene has been established and investigations have commenced into the circumstances of the crash.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
