Police Are Responding To Fatal Crash, Helensvale 17 November

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating following a serious single-vehicle traffic crash in Helensvale this morning, November 17.

Shortly after midnight, a Toyota Corolla sedan was travelling westbound on Helensvale Road when it has for reasons yet to be determined lost control, hit a street sign, and came to a stop in swamp water.

The driver of the vehicle, a 15-year-old Molendinar female, sustained critical injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.

Two passengers, a 21-year-old male and a 15-year-old male, were transported to Gold Coast University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who have relevant dashcam vision, to come forward.

The investigation is ongoing.
