Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash in Newborough this morning.
Emergency services were called to the crash on the Princes Freeway, near John Field Drive, on Tuesday 31 October just after 3am.
It appears the car, while travelling a bend, has lost control and crashed into a barrier.
Sadly, one of the male passengers died at the scene.
Two other men and a woman, also in the vehicle at the time, have been taken to hospital for treatment.
It is expected the road will be blocked for some time while MCIU detectives process the scene.
All east bound traffic on the Princes Freeway will be closed to traffic between John Field Drive and Haunted Hills Road, while a diversion will be set up via Yallourn North.
