Police Are Responding To Fatal Crash In Cobbannah

Police are investigating a fatal crash in Cobbannah overnight.

It is understood a car left Bairnsdale-Dargo Road and rolled down an embankment about 10.30pm on Saturday, 11 January.

Emergency services worked on the passenger, a 35-year-old Sale woman, but she died at the scene.

The driver, a 26-year-old Maffra woman, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

She is assisting police with their enquiries.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be determined and detectives from Major Collision Investigation Unit are attending the scene.
