Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a single vehicle crash in Heathcote overnight.
It appears the car was travelling along Heathcote-Redesdale Road, near Chapmans Lane, when it crashed into a tree and burst into flames shortly before midnight.
Sadly the driver and sole occupant of the car, who is yet to be identified, died at the scene.
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
