Police are investigating a fatal crash in Pootilla this morning.
It is understood a driver was travelling along Ballarat Daylesford Road when they left the roadway and crashed into a tree about 2am.
The impact forced the car to roll several times before it caught on fire.
Sadly, the female driver died at the scene.
She is yet to be formally identified.
The exact circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.
