Police Are Responding To Fatal Crash - Lady Barron

Sadly, a pedestrian has died after a crash involving a police vehicle at Lady Barron on Flinders Island overnight.

Police and emergency services were called to Lady Barron Road about 9pm Saturday after reports a pedestrian had been struck by a police vehicle.

The pedestrian - a Lackrana man in his 60s - sadly died at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle - an on-duty police officer - was not physically injured.

Wellbeing support is being offered to all those affected, and our thoughts are with the man's family and loved ones at this tragic time.

As is our normal process, a full Professional Standards investigation will be conducted to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
