Police Are Responding To Fatal Crash - Martindale

A woman has died in a car and truck crash in the state's Hunter Valley Region yesterday.

About 3.30pm (Tuesday 14 January 2025), emergency services were called to Martindale Road, Martindale, following reports of a crash.

Officers attached to Hunter Valley Police District attended and found a car and B-Double truck had collided, trapping the driver and passenger of the car.

The female passenger of the car was trapped for some time before being freed.

She was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before she was taken to Denman Hospital, where she died.

The woman is yet to be formally identified.

The driver of the car, an 81-year-old man, was treated at the scene before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition.

The driver of the truck – a 43-year-old man – was not injured.

He was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Police established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
