Police Are Responding To Fatal Crash Near Tamworth

A driver has died after a two-vehicle crash in the states north-west.

About 4.20pm yesterday (Sunday 8 December 2024), emergency services responded to reports of a two-vehicle crash along Manilla/Barraba Road, Red Hill, approximately 70km north of Tamworth.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 73-year-old female driver and 77-year-old male passenger at the scene.

The woman was airlifted to Tamworth Hospital whilst the male was taken by road to the same hospital. Both are in a serious but stable condition.

The driver of the other vehicle – a 32-year-old man – died prior to the arrival of emergency services.

Officers from Oxley Police District have commenced an investigation into the incident.

A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
