Police Are Responding To Fatal Crash, Port Curtis

A person has died following a two-vehicle traffic crash at Port Curtis south of Rockhampton this morning, February 10.

Emergency services were called to the Bruce Highway near Gavial Creek at Port Curtis at 3.20am, to reports a crash occurred involving a truck travelling north and vehicle travelling south.

The truck then rolled and caught on fire.

The sole occupant of the vehicle died at the scene.

The driver of the truck suffered no physical injuries and has been transported to hospital for assessment.

The Bruce Highway is closed this morning, with diversions in place.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
