Police are responding to fatal crash, Silverdale

A 58-year-old man has passed away following a traffic crash in Silverdale today.

Around midday, two vehicles heading in opposite directions on the Cunningham Highway collided.

Emergency crews attempted to revive the 58-year-old driver and sole occupant of one of the vehicles, however, he passed away at the scene.

The 49-year-old driver and sole occupant of the other vehicle was initially trapped, he was subsequently freed by emergency crews and transported by air to the Princess Alexander Hospital.

The Forensic Crash Unit are investigating.
