Officers from the Major Crash Investigation Section are seeking information regarding a fatal crash in Watheroo (north of Moora) yesterday, Wednesday 8 September 2021.
About 3.35pm a gold Land Rover Discovery towing a caravan was being driven north on Midlands Road. At the same time a white Toyota LandCruiser appears to have been being driven south on the same road. The two vehicles collided head-on.
A Mitsubishi Triton, which was being driven behind the Land Rover Discovery, crashed into the rear of the caravan after the driver was unable to brake in time to avoid the crash scene.
A 66-year-old female passenger in the Land Rover Discovery died at the scene.
The 75-old male driver of the Land Rover Discovery and the 28-year-old male driver of the Toyota LandCruiser both received serious injuries in the crash.
