A woman has died after a car and truck collided in the state's Central West today.
About 6.05am (Friday 20 November 2020), emergency services were called to the Newell Highway, near Mirrool, following reports of a crash.
Upon arrival, officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District found a car and a truck collided, killing one female passenger in the car, and leaving the second passenger trapped. The driver of the car was not injured.
With assistance from NSW Ambulance paramedics and Fire and Rescue NSW, the passenger was released and treated at the scene and will be airlifted to hospital.
The driver of the truck was not injured and has been taken to Temora Hospital for mandatory testing.
A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is underway.
