A man has died as a result of a single vehicle crash at Wonglepong overnight.
Around 11.30pm last night, a man was driving a Mitsubishi FTO along Mundoolun Connection Road when it lost control and crashed into a tree north of Bambling Road.
Members of the public rendered assistance, however the 31-year-old Tamborine Mountain man died at the scene.
A 28-year-old Tamborine woman, who was a passenger in the coupe, was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.
Crash investigators are investigating the circumstances of the crash and anyone with information or vision is asked to come forward.
Police are again reminding all motorists, the number of lives lost and people seriously injured in crashes on Queensland roads continues to rise and is on track to be one of the worst in a decade.
Road safety is everyone's responsibility but that starts with you. Every decision you make behind the wheel, counts.
