Police are investigating a serious crash on the Bass Highway, Latrobe earlier today.
Police and emergency services were called to the scene about midday, following reports of a crash involving a black SUV and a truck.
Initial enquiries indicate that the SUV was travelling north on the highway between Latrobe and Devonport, and was struck from behind by the truck after slowing down.
The man driving the car and a woman who was a passenger were both taken to hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
The Bass Highway was closed for about three hours while crash investigators and forensics examined the scene.
