Cannington Detectives have charged eight people with 25 offences as a result of their investigation into an altercation at a restaurant in Parkwood on Saturday, 15 July 2023.
It is alleged about 9pm, an altercation occurred between two groups of people at a restaurant situated at a shopping centre on the corner of High Street and Willeri Drive. The altercation continued into the car park with damage done to the venue and a parked vehicle. Children inside the restaurant had to be moved for their safety.
During the altercation several people were injured with two men in their 40s taken to hospital. One sustained a broken leg and fractured eye socket and another person sustained a fractured skull. They both required extensive hospital stays.
The WA Police Force has a zero tolerance for incidents involving violent behaviour and Cannington Detectives quickly instigated an extensive investigation.
• A 22-year-old man from Bibra Lake has been charged with 3 x Common Assault, 1 x Grievous Bodily Harm, and 1 x Assault Occasioning Bodily Harm. He is next due to appear before the Armadale Magistrates Court on 22 September 2023.
• An 18-year-old man from Riverton has been charged with 3 x Assault Occasioning Bodily Harm and 1 x Grievous Bodily Harm. He is next due to appear before the Armadale Magistrates Court on 19 September 2023.
• A 35-year-old woman from Riverton has been charged with 2 x Assault Occasioning Bodily Harm, 1 x Criminal Damage and 1 x Common Assault. She is next due to appear before the Armadale Magistrates Court on 19 September 2023.
• An 18-year-old man from Seville Grove has been charged with Common Assault and is next due to appear before the Armadale Magistrates Court on 12 September 2023.
• A 23-year-old man from Brentwood has been charged with 2 x Common Assault and 1 x Criminal Damage. He is next due to appear before the Armadale Magistrates Court on 27 September 2023.
• A 24-year-old man from Dumbleyung has been charged with 3 x Assault Occasioning Bodily Harm, 2 x Common Assault and 1 x Carried an Article with Intent to Cause Fear that someone may be Injured or Disabled. He is next due to appear before the Armadale Magistrates Court on 5 September 2023.
• A 22-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with Criminal Damage and is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on 30 August 2023.
• A 17-year-old male from Seville Grove was charged with Common Assault and referred to the Juvenile Justice Team.
