Police Arrest Four After Evade In Melbourne's West

Police, as part of Operation Shows, arrested two boys and two girls following an alleged evade in the western suburbs, early hours this morning.

Officers caught sight of a blue Saab Tourer allegedly driving erratically in the Wyndham area about 12am.

Despite police attempting to intercept the Saab in the vicinity of Orvalia Road in Manor Lakes, the vehicle allegedly failed to stop.

Police maintained observations from a distance and successfully deployed tyre deflation devices at the intersection of Anniversary Avenue and Ballan Road.

The Saab was allegedly dumped on Spearmint Boulevard in Wyndham Vale.

Swift acting officers promptly arrested two boys and two girls.

A 16-year-old Cobblebank boy, a 17-year-old Harkness boy and a 16-year-old Manor Lakes girl were spoken to by police and released pending further enquiries.

A 16-year-old Truganina girl was interviewed and released with an intention to be charged on summons for theft and driving offences.

Operation Shows, a regular operation in the Wyndham area, sees local police work alongside specialist units including the Air Wing, Dog Squad and Highway Patrol to target car thefts and subsequent dangerous driving in the area.
