Police have arrested four males following an alleged drive-by shooting in Cranbourne West on Thursday, 8 July.
It's alleged a firearm was discharged into a residence on Black Gum Crescent about 12.50am before the vehicle, a silver Mercedes sedan fled the scene. Fortunately, the residents were uninjured.
Police Air Wing observed the vehicle a short time later travelling through the south eastern suburbs.
It's alleged the vehicle was involved in a collision with a truck and another vehicle on the Monash Freeway near the Springvale Road exit. Fortunately, the drivers of each vehicle were uninjured.
Police Air Wing continued to follow the silver Mercedes to the corner of Burwood Highway and Commercial Road, Ferntree Gully where local police and the dog squad arrested four males and located two firearms.
It's alleged the vehicle used in the drive-by shooting was stolen earlier in the evening during an aggravated carjacking in Maidstone about 9pm.
The four males are currently assisting police with their enquiries.
