Police Arrest in Alice Springs Stolen Vehicle Case

The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested a 14-year-old male youth in relation to a stolen motor vehicle and theft incident that occurred in Alice Springs yesterday.

Around 11am, police received a report that a vehicle had been stolen by a male youth from a service station on Larapinta Drive. The vehicle was located a short time later abandoned at an address in Larapinta. Cash that was inside the vehicle at the time it was allegedly stolen had been removed and the offender had fled from the location.

Strike Force Viper and Alice Springs general duties members commenced investigations, resulting in the 14-year-old male presenting to the Alice Springs Police Station where he was arrested without incident.

He has been charged with:

  • Theft
  • Driving, riding, using a motor vehicle without consent
  • Driving a motor vehicle while unlicensed

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear in court today.
