Police Arrest Man After Berwick Hit And Run

Casey Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested a man following a hit and run outside a Berwick hospital this morning.

It is understood a 66-year-old woman was accompanying her husband from their Ford Territory to the hospital entrance on Kangan Drive around 11.20am.

Officers have been told a man, who was seated on a nearby bench, walked up and entered the Ford.

As the woman attempted to stop the man from driving away, she was struck by the moving vehicle.

The Upper Beaconsfield woman was transported to another hospital, where she remains in a serious but stable condition.

This afternoon, detectives arrested a 25-year-old man at an address in Pioneer Bay.

The brown Ford was also recovered nearby.

The man, who is of no fixed address, is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

The investigation remains ongoing.
