Police Arrest Man After Crashing Into House In Clayton

Police have arrested a man after he allegedly crashed into a house in Clayton this morning.

It is believed the male driver in a white SUV was travelling along Marshall Avenue, when they left the roadway, mounted a footpath and crashed into a house about 8.15am.

No one was inside the home at the time.

The driver allegedly dumped his vehicle and fled the scene on foot.

With the assistance of the K9 Unit and Nunawading Highway Patrol, the man was quickly arrested on Koonawarra Street.

The 29-year-old Narre Warren man is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
