A man has been arrested after he evaded police in a stolen truck today.
Officers were alerted to a truck driving erratically in the St Albans area about 8am.
Police have been told the driver narrowly missed civilians as he drove dangerously through the area.
Police followed the allegedly stolen white truck through the Thompson, Newcomb, Leopold and Moolap areas, where the driver entered the wrong side of the road multiple times.
The vehicle evaded police when they tried to intercept it on Barwon Heads Road, Thompson.
The driver continued driving dangerously before stop sticks were successfully deployed twice by police on both Boundary Road in Newcomb and Port Arlington Road.
The vehicle hit multiple parked cars causing significant damage including an unmarked police vehicle, before it came to a stop.
With the assistance of Air Wing, the driver was swiftly arrested by officers.
No one was injured during the incident.
A 28-year-old Mount Martha man is assisting police with their enquiries.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the white truck driving or who has been impacted by this vehicle to come forward.
