Police Arrest Man After Fatal Stabbing At Albury

A man has died following a stabbing in the state's south this evening.

About 6:15pm today (Monday 8 July 2024), emergency services were called to a carpark at Wodonga Place, South Albury, following reports of a stabbing.

Officers attached to Murray River Police District attended and found a man, believed to be aged in his 30s, with a stab wound to his chest.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man at the scene before he was taken to Albury Base Hospital, where he died.

The man is yet to be formally identified.

Following inquiries, a 27-year-old man has been arrested and is assisting with inquiries.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
