Police arrested a man last night following an assault and two firearms incidents in the Glenroy area yesterday.
Officers were told a woman was assaulted by a man known to her at a property in Essendon North about 7.50am on Thursday.
The victim, a 27-year-old Essendon North woman, was hospitalised with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Emergency services were later called to reports of shots fired at two separate vehicles on Tullamarine Freeway, Glenroy and Pascoe Vale Road in Jacana about 9.15am.
No one was injured during either incident.
With the assistance of officers from Special Operations Group, a man was located and arrested in a Glenroy Road carpark about 9.50pm last night and a firearm was also seized.
A 37-year-old man Craigieburn man was hospitalised and remains under police guard.
He will be interviewed by Armed Crime Squad detectives at a later date.
The investigation remains ongoing.
A 38-year-old Roxburgh Park man presented to a hospital in Coburg about midday yesterday with a gunshot wound.
The exact circumstances are still being established, however police believe this is also linked to this series of incidents.
