Police Arrest Man After Geelong Death

Homicide Squad detectives have arrested a man following the death of another man in Geelong last night.

Emergency services were first called to reports of an injured man in an upstairs accommodation room at a hotel on Brougham Street about 11.50pm.

An 82-year-old New Zealand national was located with critical injuries inside the property, where he died a short time later.

This afternoon, detectives arrested a 34-year-old Geelong man on Elizabeth Street in Melbourne's CBD.

He is expected to be interviewed in relation to the incident.

The investigation remains ongoing.
