A man has been arrested after assaulting two police officers at Clearview.
It will be alleged that just after 12pm today (Friday 3 January), police were called to Hampstead Road after reports that a man was threatening staff and customers outside a supermarket with a watering can he claimed was filled with petrol, and a lighter.
The can was only filled with water.
He then threw the can at two people and boarded a bus headed for the city.
Patrols were able to intercept the suspect when the bus stopped on Hampstead Road at Lightsview.
When police attempted to remove the man from the bus he assaulted two officers by biting and hitting them.
The two officers suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene by paramedics.
A 30-year-old Northfield man was charged with assault a prescribed emergency worker and resist arrest.
He was refused bail to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.
