A man has been arrested after a pursuit and crash in Sydney's south west yesterday afternoon.
About 5.30pm (Saturday 12 April 2025), officers attached to St George Police Area Command stopped a vehicle on Belmore Road, Riverwood, for random testing.
During the stop, the vehicle drove from police and a pursuit was initiated.
It was terminated short time later due to safety concerns.
Sometime later, the vehicle was travelling on The River Road, Picnic Point, when it crashed into another vehicle.
Officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command attended and the alleged driver, a 22-year-old man, was arrested.
He was taken to St George Hospital in a stable condition.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 39-year-old man, was taken to hospital for treatment of injuries.
Three passengers, a 33-year-old woman and two children aged 3 and 11 months, were taken to hospital as a precaution.
A dog was also taken to the vet as a precaution.
A crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash has commenced, with the assistance of the Crash Investigation Unit.
