Police arrest man after restaurant robbery, South Australia

A man has been arrested after allegedly robbing a restaurant at Morphett Vale a short time ago.

About 7.50pm on Tuesday 21 July, a man entered an Indian restaurant on Main South Road, Morphett Vale and stole money from the till. When challenged by staff, he allegedly brandished a knife.

Fortunately, no one was physically injured during the incident.

Staff rang police and provided a description of the suspect. They followed the suspect at a distance and guided police to his location.

Patrols were quick to respond and located the suspect a short distance away on Teusner Drive.

The 35-year-old man from Morphett Vale was arrested and charged with theft and assault. He was refused police bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court tomorrow, Wednesday 22 July.

Crime scene investigators and Southern District CIB detectives attended the scene.
