A man was arrested after two people were allegedly stabbed at Munno Para this evening.
Police and paramedics responded to Coventry Road, Munno Para about 6.15pm by reports of a violent assault.
A 40-year-old man was located with serious injuries to the abdomen and a 40-year-old woman sustained a laceration to the arm. They were both taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect was detained at the scene by witnesses and swiftly taken into police custody.
The 41-year-old man was arrested and charged with attempted murder. He will be refused police bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Monday.
Crime scene investigators and Northern District CIB detectives attended the scene.
The investigation is in its early stages; however, police understand the people involved are known to each other and this was not a random incident.
