Police Arrest Man After Stabbing On Bus At Rowville

Detectives are investigating after two people were stabbed in Rowville early this morning.

Emergency services were called to reports of an argument involving two men and a woman on a Wantirna South-bound bus shortly after midnight.

Police will allege one of the men pulled out a knife and slashed both a 59-year-old Scoresby man and 53-year-old Ferntree Gully woman in the face and upper body area.

The male victim sustained critical injuries and the woman sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators will allege those involved were not known to each other.

Police quickly attended the scene and conducted a search of the area, including the Dog Squad, however the offender was unable to be located.

Several hours later, the Rowville van was patrolling the Knoxfield area when they came across a man matching the description of the offender and took him into custody.

The 36-year-old Melbourne man will be interviewed by investigators today.
