Police Arrest Man After Stonnington Assaults

Detectives from Taskforce Echo have today arrested a man as part of their investigation into two separate incidents in Stonnington earlier this month.

Warrants were executed at two properties in Tarneit early this morning and police arrested a 39-year-old Tarneit man.

The man, who is also believed to be a patched member of the Comanchero Outlaw Motorcycle Gang, will now be interviewed by police.

The arrest follows an incident in Windsor on 13 August and an incident in Prahran on 18 August.

On 13 August, the man allegedly attempted to enter a store on Chapel Street about 11.15pm.

After security prevented him from entering, he became physically aggressive and assaulted one of the male security guards.

On 18 August, the man was allegedly involved in a brawl outside a Malvern Road night club in Prahran just after 3.45am.

He was initially involved in a physical altercation with a 23-year-old Rowville man before a large number of other people became involved.

It's believed the Rowville man suffered a number of knife wounds during the incident, while it appears a second man was also knocked unconscious while attempting to stop the fight.

All parties subsequently dispersed from the area.

Police are today releasing CCTV from the second incident and are hoping to identify those who were involved in the brawl.

Detectives are also keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
