About 2:30pm today (Wednesday 3 July 2024), officers attached to St George Police Area Command were patrolling Belmore Road Riverwood, when they sighted a white Land Rover.
Officers attempted to stop the car for the purpose of a random breath test. When the vehicle allegedly failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated.
The pursuit continued onto the M5 at Riverwood where the vehicle stopped. The three occupants refused to get out of the vehicle resulting in police forcing entry by breaking the front windows.
During a search of the car, police allegedly located and seized an amount of drugs and a knife.
A 41-year-old male from Kingsgrove was arrested. A 31-year-old female from Berowra was arrested.
The male driver was subjected to a breath and drug test, which allegedly returned a negative result.
Both the male and female were taken to Kogarah Police Station and are assisting with inquiries.
