Riverland Detectives have arrested a 56-year-old Woodville man in Waikerie this morning in connection with an overnight house fire.
Emergency services were called to the Bower Street, Woodville home around 12.30am on Tuesday 28 September by reports of a fire.
The vacant house was completely destroyed.
Following investigations, a Woodville man was arrested and charged with arson.
Detectives from Western District CIB are continuing the investigation, and will allege the arrested man is known to the owner of the property.
Police would like to reassure the community this is not a random incident.
The arrested man has been refused police bail and will appear before the Berri Magistrates Court tomorrow, Wednesday 29 September.
