A man has been arrested for trafficking drugs after he was stopped at Tailem Bend yesterday.
As a result of a joint operation involving SAPol's Serious and Organised Crime Branch, Australian Federal Police and NSW Police together with uniform patrols from Murray Mallee Local Service Area, police stopped and searched a vehicle on the Princess Hwy, Tailem Bend at 9.00 pm on Tuesday 17 September 2024.
The search located and seized 8kg of methamphetamine and $3000 in cash.
A 32-year-old man from Carlingford NSW, was arrested and has been with traffic large commercial quantity of a controlled drug. He has been refused bail and will appear before the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court today 18 September.
Detective Superintendent Shane Addison, Officer in Charge of Serious and Organised Crime Branch said "This is an example of SAPOL commitment to working cooperatively and in collaboration with our partner law enforcement agencies to identify and disrupt the illicit trade, which causes serious harm to the community. This operation has prevented a significant quantity of methamphetamine from being distributed into the South Australian community where it would have caused further harm and distress".
