Police Arrest Man Over Armed Robbery - Summer Hill

A man has been arrested over the alleged armed hold-up of a jewellery store in Sydney's Inner West.

About 8.25am today (Wednesday 5 March 2025), officers from Burwood Police Area Command responded to reports staff at a jewellery store on Parramatta Road at Summer Hill had been robbed.

Officers were told a man entered the store and allegedly threatened two staff members before he left with jewellery.

A short time later, police patrolling the area chased the man along Sloane Street, Haberfield, where he was arrested.

During the arrest OC spray was deployed and a replica revolver secured along with property from the store being recovered.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 47-year-old man at the scene before he was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for observation where he was later conveyed to Burwood Police Station and is currently assisting with inquiries.

A male senior constable also suffered minor injuries during the arrest.

There were no reports of any other injuries.

A crime scene was established, and investigations are continuing.
