Police Arrest Man Over Arson At Tobacco Shop

A man will face court today charged with arson following an investigation into a fire at a Clearview tobacco shop.

About 4.45am on Friday 4th October, police and emergency services were called to a tobacco shop on Hampstead Road, Clearview after reports of a fire.

There was damage to the roller shutter and burn marks on the bricks, however damage to the building was minimal.

Following an extensive investigation, yesterday, Monday 30 December, police arrested a 33-year-old man from Novar Gardens and charged him with arson.

He did not apply for bail and will appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court via video link today.

The investigation is ongoing with further arrests anticipated.
